Mcaine Carlos: MMA Graduate with a Multitude of Gratitude

Mcaine Andre Carlos, a Multimedia Arts graduate from Benilde, celebrated his achievements as Summa Cum Laude and recipient of the Saint Benilde Romançon Award at the Commencement Exercises on July 27, 2024, attributing his success to his education and involvement in student organizations at the College.

Rizza Navarro: To Garner a Culinary Caliber Like No Other

Rizza Vanessa Navarro, who graduated summa cum laude from Benilde’s BS-HRIM program with a major in Culinary Arts, credits her success to hands-on experiences in state-of-the-art kitchen facilities, participation in competitions, and support from her professors and family.

Benilde’s Bachelor in Applied Deaf Studies in ASEAN University Network’s Spotlight

In preparation for the 393rd AUN-QA Programme Assessment from June 18-20, 2024, Benilde’s Bachelor in Applied Deaf Studies (BAPDST) program showcased its commitment to educational accessibility and inclusion through detailed presentations and discussions on Deaf awareness, effective communication methods, and the importance of interpreters, highlighting its dedication to improving inclusive education.

Benilde PRIME: Strengthening Disaster Preparedness Across Communities

Benilde PRIME, a week-long event held from July 1 to 5, 2024, aimed at enhancing disaster preparedness across the Benildean Community, featured seminars and workshops on fire prevention, cybercrime emergency prevention, and earthquake preparedness, in collaboration with key organizations like the Bureau of Fire Protection, MMDA, MDRRMO, and the Philippine Red Cross.

Benilde and UPNVJ Seal Partnership for Collaboration and Exchange

On July 23, 2024, De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde and Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta (UPNVJ) signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish a five-year partnership focusing on student and staff exchanges, collaborative research, joint seminars, and other academic collaborations.

LOOK: Blessing of the New Vatel Restaurant

The new Vatel Restaurant, situated on the Ground Floor of The Atrium@Benilde Campus, was officially blessed on June 27, 2024. The event was attended by key administrators including Brother President Br. Edmundo Fernandez FSC, Vice Chancellor for Academics Mr. Angelo Lacson, and SHRIM Dean Ms. Marie Castro as well as other Benildean Associates. Vatel Restaurant is set to open to the public in 2025.

Updates on Benildean Operation Sagip: Bagyong Carina

Benilde Center for Social Action (CSA) posted on their Facebook page that as of August 1 that the Benildean Operation Sagip (BOS) has distributed 3,051 relief packs, engaged 21 barangay partners and 25 institutional partners, and involved 65 volunteers in the BOS: Bagyong Carina Relief Drive.

In an effort to strengthen the relief and donation drive of the College, the Benildean Operation Sagip (BOS) was launched by the Office of the Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life (formerly known as OVCLMSL) in 2013 and is currently managed by CSA. BOS started as a donation drive to provide relief for communities affected by the torrential downpour of Habagat and Typhoon Yolanda. Since its launch, BOS has been active in organizing support initiatives and engaging various organizations within and outside the College.

BOS is accepting cash donations via GCash. Donors are requested to kindly email a copy of their proof of donation to social.action@benilde.edu.ph to ensure proper tracking and acknowledgment.

    • CSA is calling on the Benildean community for cash donations to families and communities affected by Typhoon #CarinaPH. Donations will be given to CSA’s Kapitbahayan Partners. You can send your cash donations via GCash or bank transfer. To ensure proper tracking and acknowledgment, please email a copy of your proof of donation to social.action@benilde.edu.ph.
    • Thank you to the  Benildean community and the people who supported the #BenildeanOperationSagip: Bagyong Carina. As of 28 July 2024, we have collected a total of Php 64,434.19 monetary donation. Special thanks to Benildean Parents in Action (BePIA) for donating Php 20,000 in support of our BOS efforts.
  • Office of the Vice President for Finance (OVPF)
    • As we approach the end of the College’s Fiscal Year, everyone is reminded that the current year’s budget will cover expenses incurred, goods delivered, and services rendered only until August 31, 2024. This is in accordance with the Philippine Financial Reporting Standards and Philippine Auditing Standards of accrual. Requests not delivered or completed up to August 31 will be cancelled. All end-users need to check with the Center for Procurement for the status of their MRFs. End-users will require to reprocess all undelivered requests and shall be charged to the incoming fiscal year’s budget. Additionally, please submit all supporting documents to Finance Office on or before September 13. For submissions beyond September 13, the request will be charged to AY 2024-2025 budget.

    • As we celebrate Lasallian Earth Day in August, let’s dedicate more time to appreciating creation and reflecting on the beautiful gifts from God. This month, let’s also show our support for the upcoming environmental events and the recycling initiatives at the College. Think about donating your recyclable materials by bringing them to the respective campus drop-off points. To date, we have collected 24,726.50 kilograms of recyclables, equivalent to Php 78,730.00. This contribution will benefit the College scholarship program. We encourage everyone interested in supporting the welfare of campus stray cats by donating cat food. Your donations help keep these cats happy and healthy.
