The Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) has unveiled an extraordinary exhibit, Maria Taniguchi: Body of Work. Running from December 14, 2024, to March 30, 2025, this marks the first survey exhibition of the globally celebrated artist in Asia.
On December 13, 2024, exchange students from UniLaSalle France looked back fondly on their time at Benilde as they bid farewell. Benilde recently celebrated a significant milestone with the signing of partnership agreements aimed at enhancing service-learning opportunities. The ceremony, held on December 10, 2024, at the Ideation Hall on The Atrium Campus, was organized by the Benilde Center for Faculty Advancement (CFAd). This event marked a collaborative effort with various organizations to enrich students’ educational experiences through community engagement and practical application of their knowledge.
Service-learning is recognized for its dual benefits, allowing students to contribute to society while gaining invaluable hands-on experience. The agreements, signed by Mr. Angelo Marco Lacson, Vice Chancellor for Academics, and Ms. Jhoana Paula Tacorda, OIC-Director of CFAd, will foster these opportunities. Participating partners include Oracle NetSuite, Tahanang Walang Hagdan, Inc., Naval Reserve Center-National Capital Region, DepEd Pasay, Supporting Initiatives for Bridging Orphan’s Lives, Quezon City Public Library, Positive Youth Development Network, PEPTARSUS CORP, Humanitarian Legal Assistance Foundation, Inc., Make-A-Wish Philippines, Lunas Collective, Institute for Occupational Health and Safety Development, Hearts of Hope Society Cancer Support Group, De La Salle Brothers, Inc., Nicanor Reyes Memorial Foundation, Community Crafts Association of the Philippines, and Asilo De San Vicente De Paul Manila. Belen Festival is an institutional, community-wide Christmas celebration organized by the Benilde Center for Social Action featuring Belens designed by the Kapitbahayan partners. This year’s Belen Festival is in collaboration with the School of Environment and Design, Benilde Industrial Program, and the Office of the Vice President for Lasallian Mission and Student Life, and is part of EXTRO 2024.
The much-awaited concert brought the Christmas spirit to life at the MFC Parking Grounds through an evening filled with music, art, and heartfelt performances. Spearheaded by the Benilde Culture and Arts Unit, the event highlighted the creativity of Benildean talents alongside guest artists. Attendees added to the festive magic by donning unique Christmas-inspired costumes, making it a memorable celebration of art, community, and holiday cheer.
On December 14, we hosted our annual Christmas party for associates’ children, featuring an ‘Inside Out’ theme. The kids showed off their best Inside Out character impressions and costumes, bringing a splash of color and excitement to the event. This cherished tradition allows associates to bring their families together, strengthening bonds and building our one big Benildean family.
