Organized by Benilde’s School of Environment and Design and the Hub of Innovation for Inclusion (HiFi), the joint design talk was a collaborative effort with the Design Center of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), in support of the Philippine Design Competitiveness Act of 2023 (RA No. 10557). RA No. 10557 aims to raise awareness about design’s role in enhancing the competitiveness of Filipino products globally, promoting sustainable growth, and ultimately improving human life quality.

Speakers included Ocean Oi, Lead Designer of Duolog Design; Darius Juson, Founder of REPAMANA and Benilde Alum; Yen-Wen Tseng, Industrial Designer; and Jonathan Co from Sentinel Upcycling Technologies.

TRDI, established by Taiwan’s Ministry of Economic Affairs in 2003, fosters design and aesthetic awareness, industrial transformation, and internationalization. The Institute’s achievements include numerous international awards for Taiwanese designers and the organization of prestigious global design events, showcasing Taiwan’s robust design influence on the international stage.
