De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde has officially renewed its franchise with the Vatel Group until 2031, marking a continued collaboration synonymous with excellence in hospitality education. This renewal strengthens Benilde’s International Hospitality Management (IHM) program, which is built on Vatel’s rigorous standards that blend academic theory with hands-on experience.
Present during the signing of the contract were Mr. Paul D’Azemar, International Network Director of Vatel Hotel & Tourism Business School, Benilde President Br. Edmundo Fernandez FSC, Benilde Chancellor Mr. Benhur Ong, and Benilde Vice Chancellor for Academics Mr. Angelo Marco Lacson.
The Vatel standards are the backbone of this program, ensuring a balanced curriculum that combines classroom learning with practical training in real-world environments. From the first year, students dive into professional immersion through courses and internships at hotels, restaurants, and cafes affiliated with Vatel across the globe. This approach not only imparts essential hospitality management skills but also prepares students for global careers by integrating multicultural elements and international internships. Students in the IHM program earn both Philippine and French bachelor’s degrees, benefiting from Vatel International Business School’s worldwide network of schools recognized for international programs in business, hotel, and tourism management.
Quality assurance is a key focus, with Vatel schools worldwide adhering to strict guidelines that maintain uniformity and excellence across campuses. This includes a standardized curriculum and graphic charter, ensuring that all Vatel institutions deliver the same high-quality education.
The renewal also brings exciting developments for Vatel Restaurant Manila, a vital part of the IHM program’s hands-on learning experience. After a successful post-pandemic reopening led by French Executive Chef Pascal Peyramaure at the Roof Deck of Hotel Benilde, the restaurant will move to the Ground Floor of The Atrium@Benilde, the College’s new campus, in 2025.
This franchise renewal isn’t just about continuing a partnership established in 2006; it’s about pushing the boundaries of what hospitality education can achieve.
