Benilde Architects topped June 2024 Licensure Exam

Dedication, resolve, and countless hours of honing their craft have paid off for Benilde Architecture Program graduates in the Architecture Licensure Examination held by the Professional Regulation Commission in June 2024. Leading the list of examinees who passed was Benilde Architecture alum Louie Nathaniel Kiu with a score of 83.80%. Another Benildean Architecture alum, Francisco Eslira, ranked 7th with a score of 82.00%.
Benilde garnered an 83.64% passing rate, ranking 4th among schools with 50 or more examinees, an extraordinary feat surprising the 62.14% national passing rate.
Ar. Ven Lawrence Quizon Ed.D, Benilde Architecture Chairperson sends his congratulations to the board passers saying the echoes of their victory resonate within the halls of the School of Environment and Design, and throughout the College. Ar. Quizon adds a gentle reminder “Your journey has only just begun, the architectural realm, much like the dynamic landscape of the Philippines, is constantly evolving.” As the to-be-inducted architects embark on a new chapter, Ar. Quizon reminds them to let their designs be guided by the principles of integrity, respect, and compassion, and to strive for excellence in every detail.
Ar. Quizon compared wielding creativity to a “Kampilan,” a traditionally made sword in the Philippines. He asked the board passers to challenge the status quo with sharpness and precision through innovative solutions, yet with reverence for the traditions that came beforehand. He also reminded them of the values of adaptability and resourcefulness, to find solutions that work within constraints and despite unforeseen hurdles.
Benilde Architecture program started in May 2009 as a response to the developments of the time, one of which was the forecast by the United Nations of a major demographic shift happening in 2010, when for the first in human history, the earth’s population becomes more urban than rural.
Since then, the Program has achieved numerous milestones. The first batch of Benildean Architects took the ALE in June 2015 where one of the Benildean examinees, Ar. Nielsen Bryan Uy landed 10th place. In June 2017, Benildean Ar. Ria Angelica Catimbang Zamudio placed 8th. In the June 2023 examinations, Benildean Ar. Alexandra Alcorcon placed 7th as well. Benilde Architecture Program has also been consistently surpassing the national passing rate notably in January 2017, January 2019, June 2023, January 2024, and the recently concluded June 2024 exams.
